Job Details

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Maintain safety as #1 priority, abiding by company rules, operating machinery only when guards are in place, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) when in the manufacturing area, and maintaining a clean work environment.

**Report any unsafe conditions to supervisor.**

Receives and reverses finished goods after inspection and/or packaging operations. Boxes and packages goods as required and assigns locations.

Uses lift trucks to select goods from stores and/or load or unload trucks. Checks, counts, measures and weighs goods for shipment, working to shipping orders, bills of lading, etc.

Document quantities, weights and shipping charges for invoicing. Ensures all corresponding paperwork accompanies shipments (i.e. certifications, etc.).

Protects, pads and packages or repackages goods as required. Apply labels and other shipping information as indicated. Bands and/or shrink wraps containers as required.

Receives merchandise from common carriers, vendors, company trucks in accordance with purchase orders. Counts and verifies materials received.

Use electronic counter count small parts. Counts into “standard” counts and places in bags or boxes. May bag or box in specified quantities to meet shipping order.

**Closes and seals bags and/or boxes.**

Prepare identification labels and labels bags and/or boxes of parts.

Weighs and prepares paperwork for parts going to outside processors.

Weighs and issues steel going to production departments using the bridge crane or a fork lift. Checks for proper material and size based on router.

Stamp manufacturing I.D. or markings to bar stock.

Issues nylon and insures proper inventory count on all security cages.

**Prepare Commercial Invoices.**

Print packing lists and bills of ladings. Issues and reverses lines from packing lists.

**Perform cycle counts.**

Uses company vehicle to make miscellaneous trips to platers, post office, etc. as required.

Perform duties in accordance with established work instructions and procedures to maintain compliance with the Quality Management System.

**Maintain good house keeping.**

Performs other duties deemed necessary by managers.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
