Job Description:

Title:  Human Resources Manager

Location:   Los Angeles, CA

This role provides Human Resources support to client groups in all areas to include: workforce planning, safety, associate relations, compensation, benefits, training, associate development, and special projects.

Responsibilities: 

  • Investigate and resolve complex associate and labor relations issues. Act in a proactive manner to anticipate needs and take action based on trends.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, practices, guidelines, and applicable state and federal laws and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Conduct first step appeal meetings.
  • Coordinate and conduct workforce planning for exempt and non-exempt positions with emphasis on Affirmative Action objectives and compliance.
  • Identify training opportunities, assist in course design and facilitate training.
  • Initiate process improvement by analyzing current processes and recommending improvements to obtain greater efficiency, quality, and associate satisfaction.
  • Ensure safety and risk management programs and procedures are implemented within area of responsibility.
  • Lead associate development and training initiatives throughout the region.
  • Lead and facilitate associate engagement efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in business, psychology, or human resources
  • 5-10 years of HR experience with multi-site/State experience with heavy emphasis on associate engagement.
  • Strong associate/labor relations experience in union and non- union facilities.
  • Ability to travel extensively to facilities within region including attendance at early morning, evening meetings. This is a field based position.
  • Lead, direct and support key initiatives in region and nationally in areas to include associate engagement, safety, compensation and benefits.
  • Design and deliver management and front line associate training.
  • Experience with State specific labor/associate regulations in area of responsibility.
  • PHR certification highly desired.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in fast paced environment.
  • Bi-lingual-Spanish desired, not required
  • Knowledge of employment recruitment techniques, including behavior-based interviewing.
  • Knowledge of policy and procedure administration, payroll, benefits, and HR systems.
