We are looking for a future leader that has supervisory or management experience leading a team manufacturing (metal fabrication, motors, assembly, machining, etc)

You will be responsible for: Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Manufacturing Manager is responsible for directing, planning and coordinating all aspects of manufacturing and production for one of the product lines. Coordinates manufacturing activities ensuring compliance with production forecasts and new product launch dates. Recognizes and solves problems affecting production including schedules, staff, quality and order of production line. Recommends and implement changes to improve quality, reduce cycle time and reduce overall costs. Utilizes lean manufacturing techniques to promote continuous improvement projects resulting in annual cost savings. Work with other Division departments and functions to maintain efficient operation, high delivery standards and to promote customer goodwill.

Position Duties

Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight for the successful introduction of new products and processes into production through concurrent engineering practices, new technologies, and methods.

  • Provide technical guidance and direction in the area of manufacturing engineering to assure operations and development projects and initiatives are achieved.

  • Review and execute the master schedule provided by the materials group efficiently to ensure on-time delivery & favorable product delivery costs.

  • Analyze shop schedules; establish monthly and weekly shipment budgets to meet or exceed the Division’s goals; ensure capacity constraints are identified and overcome.

  • Develop and implement improved information and reporting systems for manufacturing and production.

  • Establish, present, and manage budgets for conducting department activities.

  • Forecasts, plans and directs resources to achieve department and company objectives.

  • Maintains performance metrics to monitor progress and keeps management informed of status, challenges, accomplishments and opportunities for improvement.

  • Analyze problems, account for variances, drive for root cause and implement improved methods and procedures; create, review and update improvement plans, at a minimum, on a monthly basis.

  • Review employee performance to assure that deserving employees are recognized and that under performing employees are given the direction required to improve their performance.

  • Develop medium to long range manufacturing strategies to meet the current business environment

  • Provide guidance to the Design Engineering group as it pertains to produceability while meeting manufacturing costs.

  • Participate in long-range business planning and budget preparation.

  • Must have good oral, written communications and have a high level of moral and ethical codes.


Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.S. Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, and/or Mechanical Engineering) from a four-year college or university. A minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, and is an effective communicator. Experience in working in an aerospace, automotive, electrical, industrial manufacturing industry.
